Everything 5 Pounds
I was absolutely over the moon when one of my favourite brands contacted me and offered me the opportunity to collaborate and work with them! Everything 5 Pounds is an online website that I have been using for several years now to order clothes, shoes, bags etc! I’ve always loved it. For them to approach me and ask me to work with them was a true honour.
I had so much fun creating a lookbook for my YouTube channel modelling various items of clothing that E5P sent out to me (you can find this video HERE). I thought I would do a short blog post too with some still photographs of me wearing the items for you too!
Each of the items sent out to me were of excellent quality and fit me perfectly and comfortably, yay! You can see from the photos that I picked a variety of different styles of clothing: Gym wear, evening dress, bikini, leggings, casual wear etc. The range of clothing on E5P is phenomenal & there is always something for everyone. They now offer a range of homewear & childrens toys too. There really is something for everyone; there are things for women, men, kids – it’s wonderful (I would start browsing for your Christmas shopping asap & get some excellent quality items for such an amazing price).
I’ve loved working with E5P and I look forward to working with them again in the future. Have a browse through the pics & have a shimmy at the lookbook video and let me know what your favourite item was! (Mine was definitely the blue dress with the black lace at the stomach area: I wore it on a night out in Malta to celebrate my 20th birthday & got some great pics!)
Have you heard of Everything 5 Pounds before? Have you ever purchased from them? Do you have any questions? Drop me a comment below & I’d be happy to chat to you.

I’m back from Malta!

Hello, darlings!
This is probably going to be the shortest post I will probably ever have on my blog. I have been so behind with everything since I got back from my fabulous 2 week break in Malta. I’m slowly but surely catching up & I’ve got lots of things planned and lots of things to share with you all.
My holiday was exactly what I needed and I’m missing it so much already (I shall be writing in more detail about it at a later date). I got stung by a jellyfish whilst I was away: I will also be sharing this awful experience with you too and giving you all of the details. I’m still here, I live to tell the tale, and it’s something I will never forget. Hey, I can cross that off my bucket list now…
I start college next week and I’m super nervous about it, I attended my cousin’s baby shower at the weekend (with family whom I haven’t seen in a long time and have had a bit of a ‘rough patch’ with), I celebrated my 20th birthday whilst I was on holiday and then I celebrated it again when I came home from my holiday with my wonderful parents; my mum had her last session of radio-therapy last week and she got to ring her wee bell! She’s so glad it’s all over and done with but she’s such a tired soul. My friend Megan surprised me with a fabulous birthday gift: She got us tickets to go to a Coronation Street Set Tour in the SECC Glasgow (next week) and I can not wait. For those of you that know me will know how crazy I am about Coronation Street so I am super excited about this! I’ll be writing all about it, watch this space!
So yeah, it’s all happening, I’ve got loads to catch up on and loads to tell and show you all.
I just wanted to check in and let you all know that everything is all good in the hood & I’m home safe and sound (apart from the jellyfish sting – that wasn’t very safe or sound – that was bloody dreadful and I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone. Ouchies)!
Missed you all so so so much!
Until next time

GUEST POST: Ralph Marion

I want to thank Charlene for giving me this opportunity to be on here. It’s always such an honor when people ask for you do to things like this. So sit back and relax, and I will introduce myself to you.

My name is Rafael Marion, but everyone calls me Ralph. I am a 29 (almost 30) yr old blogger and Youtuber from Birmingham, AL. I work as a bartender at a local gastro pub. I am married to the love of my life Whitney and we have three cats (Ava, Zsa Zsa, and Tazz). I am a huge fan of pro wrestling and craft beer.

I started blogging because I wanted a way to express myself and get my voice heard. That is when “Ralph’s Birmingham” came around. On the blog, I talk about everything that is on my mind and going on in my life. Stuff like past experiences, times out around the city, my personal reviews about things, and so much more.

I have truly felt like since I have started blogging I have been more vocal about certain things. Now I am still a very shy guy when you first meet me, but I do open up once I get more comfortable. This community has helped me through a lot of different things, and I am truly thankful all the folks I’ve met so far.

Charlene and I met one day during a Twitter chat. She was such an easygoing person, and someone I truly can call a friend of mine. She might seem like she is shy, but she really shines and sparkles on her blog and Youtube channel. By the way, I also have a Youtube channel. If you ever have a chance, please stop by and check it out.

Well I think that is all for now. Thanks so much for letting me introduce myself to yall. I hope that you will stop by and check out my area of the interwebs. If you ever want follow me on social media, here is where you can find me.

BOOK REVIEW: Best Man by Matt Dunn

“Best Man” by Matt Dunn
Book Review (spoiler free)

Hello darlings.
I’m back with another book review – I genuinely can not stop reading at the moment. One of my followers tweeted me the other day and stated ‘I can not keep up with you and the books you are reading at the moment.’ – I love it. I have only recently got back into the swing of reading and I am absolutely absorbed by it; there is nothing more relaxing than letting your mind run free with a good book.

So, today I’m reviewing Matt Dunn’s first novel: “Best Man”. It’s a quirky, funny and enjoyable read. I read it over the course of 2 days.

The Blurb
He’s your best friend. She’s the love of his life. You’ve got six weeks to convince him otherwise. Adam Bailey is appalled when his best friend Nick announces that he’s about to marry his new girlfriend, Sandra. Can’t Nick see just how wrong the loud-mouthed, bossy, gold-digging Sandra is for him? Somehow Adam has to make his friend see the error of his ways – without losing his friendship in the process. With only six weeks to go until the wedding, there’s not a lot of time. But amidst the chaos, carnage and confusion which ensue in the run-up to the big day, Adam himself meets someone who will change his life in ways he could never have expected.

MY THOUGHTS:

I found the ‘Best Man’ to be a very enjoyable and humorous read. Matt Dunn has a very delightful style of writing and has the capability to make you chuckle and smile as you work your way through the pages.

In my own words, I would say that the story deals with a man, Adam, who is a bit of a ‘lad’ and doesn’t seem to want to settle down, be in a serious relationship or commit himself to anything. He sees everyone else around him settling down and even this does not make him want to change his ways – until he unexpectedly falls in love with the charming, Charlie. He doesn’t quite know what to do; when things are beginning to get serious. Is she the one for him? Meanwhile, is friend jumps into a relationship and is due to get married in less than 6 weeks. Adam knows that the woman he has chosen is no good for him and that she is only after one thing: Money. But how on earth does he explain and prove this to his best friend? Is this the end of a life-long friendship or can Adam reveal this woman for what she really is?

I have to say, I think I summed that story up pretty well (If I do say so myself). It really is such a pleasurable read and one of those ones you can just read at your leisure – however I read it after just 2 days. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It makes you laugh out loud and smile as you read it – which I just love about a book! It’s very seldom I can find a book that does this. I found the sense of humour entertaining as it is wrote from a man’s perspective and hearing the way they talk is pretty unusual and comical.

WHAT I WOULD RATE THIS BOOK: 4/5

It’s such an easy and enjoyable read and is definitely a book I would recommend for others to read. Matt Dunn has done extremely well with this book. I shall be keeping an eye out for more of his books in the future!

WHERE I PURCHASED THIS BOOK:

I stumbled across this book in The Salvation Army Charity Shop for 50p – you can get yourself a copy of it HERE if you wish to give it a read. Matt Dunn also has a range of other books now on his website that you should check out (I know I am going to)!

Have you ever heard of Matt Dunn or was this your first time? Do you like the sound of this book? Is it something you would read? Let me know; I love hearing from you.

Until next time

5 posts I think you should read.

Hello darlings.

I want to dedicate this blog post to my fellow bloggers in the community; I’d like to share with you 10 posts I have read recently that I have thoroughly enjoyed and think other people should check out too.

I’m going to start with the fabulous Abbey. She’s such a kind soul & was part of the blogging community well before she started blogging – everybody loves her. Since she started her blog: It has been doing immensely well – she has had so much engagement in all of her posts & she deserves it because she is so dedicated and puts sooooo much in to everything she does. The post that I would love you to all go check out is her ‘Level up your Snail Mail’ post (for some reason it will not let me link you directly to this specific post but if you click HERE it will take you directly to her page where it should pop up if you scroll down a little bit).

Moving swiftly onwards to the lovely Katrina Wilson. She’s an absolute darling. I write to her regularly – the old fashioned way – through my #beechat snail mail project and I always look forward to her letters popping through the post for me. She does not get enough recognition for her blog as she should so I would LOVE you all to drop by & leave her a sweet comment. I particularly liked her blog post: “Dear Dr Dick” – so please go and give it a read.
Next up is the wonderful Sarah Dickinson. She is such a pleasant and friendly person, an excellent friend, and everyone needs someone like Sarah in their life. She is always active on her blog and has a variety of series’ on there too – have a browse & get involved! My favourite post of Sarah’s at the moment is her “Rambly Life Post“. Go and show her some love you angels.
Then there is the incredible Vee O’ Sullivan. She is a gem of a lass! She loves reading (like me) and we have done book swaps with one another. She has an adorable pet ferret… which brings me to my favourite post of Vee’s: “My pet ferret is a kleptomaniac“. Whatever you do – you MUST give this a read; it will make you smile! I assure you.
Lastly, it’s my wee spring chicken: Anna Tylek. She’s a sweetheart. She continuously seems to be growing and growing with her blog. I feel like a proud mother. My favourite post of hers at the moment is her latest one (which you can find HERE) where she gives us a little tour, through pictures, of her bedroom! Which is adorable by the way! Go and share the love with Anna.
I loved writing this post. It’s nice to give others a little bit of recognition for the hard work that they put in. I am going to do something like this every so often because I think it’s wonderful to be supportive to other bloggers in the community – and everyone always is to me and my blog – and so it’s a pleasure to be able to return the favour.

Until next time

Mr & Mrs Scent

When Mr & Mrs Scent contacted me and told me that they would like to send me out some of their goods to review – I was pretty chuffed. Firstly because they are from Scotland (like me) and secondly because who doesn’t love a candle?

I’m a big scent lover. I love things that make your room smell good & I love lighting candles in my bedroom, living room and bathroom to create a peaceful and relaxing ambience.

I received my candles promptly and safely and it was presented pleasantly. I was sent out an extremely big candle (yay!) of Mr & Mrs’ Scent’s bespoken fragrance: Gentlemen’s Lounge. I was also gifted with two smaller candles in tins. One was their Oriens fragrance and the other was Bougie 23 (which can be bought as a large candle too)!

I want to start by telling you what I thought of the two smaller fragrance’s before getting to the pinnacle of my post: Gentlemen’s Lounge.

I found that the Oriens and Bougie 23 each had a subtle and pleasant smell. It wasn’t strong or overpowering – just nice. They have lasted me over a week and are still going strong (for such a small tin: It’s pretty impressive). Once you blow the candles out there is a really satisfying aroma and it leaves your room smelling fab.

Moving swiftly onwards to the Gentlemen’s Lounge. It was tremendous. When I first opened it I could not stop sniffing it – I would wear it if I could.  My boyfriend and my parents took a liking to it too. On their website, it is described: “Exactly what you would imagine in a Gentleman’s Lounge combined into a truly unique single fragrance. Aromatic Vintage cologne notes lead onto a heart of Rich sweet tobacco, Soft leather and warm spices and just a suggestion of Cognac. Smokey woods of Oak, Ebony and Incense combined with Dark Musk complete this exquisite manly fragrance.” Need I say any more? I’ve had this candle burning continuously and it’s still got lots of life left in it yet. It’s so damn good and would make a fabulous present for a dad, husband, boyfriend, brother etc instead of the usual aftershave. I would highly recommend this one!

Mr & Mrs Scent are a lovely couple who specialise in making their own fragrances. They put so much passion in to everything they do. You can read more about them and check out their online shop HERE.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading this review, what do you think? Are candles something you get excited about too? What’s your favourite scent? I’d love to hear from you.

Love
Charlene McElhinney
