Sammy dress

Hello darlings!

It’s been a good few weeks since I’ve wrote a post on my blog; I’ve been super duper busy and not feeling 100%. Not to worry though – I’m back now.

You may or may not have noticed that I am no longer on ‘Blogger’: I am now on WordPress. This is my first ever time writing a post on WordPress so please be mindful that it feels like I’m a ‘beginner’ all over again. It’s still me though lovelies. Just bare with me over the next month or so until I get back in to the swing of things. (I will do a separate post, most likely, letting you all know about the move from Blogger > WordPress).

I’m kicking things off today with a fashion post featuring the fabulous Sammy Dress. They contacted me several weeks ago and asked me if I wanted to receive some lovely pieces from their site: After having a browse through their online store I happily accepted their kind offer.

I’d like to start with this criss-cross blue velveteen dress (as it’s my favourite item from the bunch). It retails for $9.96 at the moment and is on the sale – so if you like it you better snap it up quick! It’s extremely comfortable, bold and very figure-hugging. Definitely a beautiful evening dress! This is actually my favourite colour so I’m over the moon with this little number!

These mesh yoga/fitness leggings sell for $9.69. I’ve not had the chance to wear these out and about yet but they seem like great quality and are very comfortable. I’m always on the look out for quirky and stylish gym leggings so these are right up my street. (However, I need to get my ass back to the gym to make these look a bit better on me – watch this space).

This elegant crochet black blouse isn’t something I’d normally go for, I’ve went a wee bit out of my comfort zone with this one, it is really pretty and sophisticated looking. It retails for $14.15. The only downside I have about it is that it didn’t fit 100% and the straps kept falling down so I think if I wore this out and about it would probably annoy me! But it looks great in the photos, right?

These black block heeled sandals will definitely be getting worn on plenty of occasions; the majority of my nights out result in me wearing a pair of black heels. I really like these ones because they’re not too high and not too little – just right. These babies cost $16.16. I have worn them up and down the house and they seem pretty comfortable to me (the only reason you guys didn’t get a picture with my feet in them is because my toenails are currently needing painted…yep!)

This stunning heart shaped choker retails for $2.36. I would definitely pay more for this little fashion statement because it’s brilliant quality. I’ve worn this out on so many occasions since I got it and I’ve received lots of compliments and people have been asking me where it’s from: Here you go guys, knock yourselves out!

I was also sent out a pair of black leggings with rips down the front which I was really looking forward to however they were not true to size at all (I couldn’t get my ass in them  – maybe I just have a big ass – who knows! Ha ha!)

So that’s a wrap, that’s all the goodies I’ve been keeping from you all for weeks now, I hope you found something that floats your boat! If you want to check out Sammy Dress then click HERE to have a browse on their site.

Have you ever heard of Sammy Dress before? What did you think of my items? How was my first post on WordPress? Drop me a comment/message darlings. I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time

Matching Tattoo with my Childhood Best Friend.

I’m privileged and lucky to say that I have a best friend who has been by my side from the very beginning and who I know will forever remain there.

My best friend is called Lauren Thomson.

It feels odd calling her ‘Lauren’ as I’ve always referred to her as ‘Lozza’ and whenever I introduce her to anyone or speak to/about her: It’s always Lozza.

Today Lozza and I got matching tattoos: An umbrella behind each of our ears on the right hand side. The significance of the umbrella is something that we both understand and that I don’t think anyone else would. That’s why we love it so much. It’s different, quirky and unique; just like us!
A friendship like ours is so hard to come by these days. I couldn’t imagine a life without Lozza. Not today, not tomorrow and not ever. I can see us now, 75 years old, going to the bingo (like we do already and have been doing since the minute we turned 18 years old) and still rocking our umbrella tattoos that we got today.

We’re attached now, in a really special way, and it feels nice.

Do you have an important/best friend in your life? Have you got a tattoo on your body representing someone significant in your life? What do you think about Lozza and I’s matching tattoos?

I’d love to hear from you.

(Lozza and I got our tattoos done at ‘From the Ashes’ in Cumbernauld Town Centre).

Until next time

My blog is 1 year old today!

Happy 1st Birthday to my blog!

1 year ago today, I decided to start blogging, it was one of the best things I ever did.

You can read my first ever post HERE if you wish. It’s safe to say that my blog has come a long way since that first post. I never imagined that blogging would become such a vital and significant part of my life – I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I don’t want to get all soppy and cheesy but I do want to acknowledge the things I have achieved over this past year through my blog:

– I’ve been able to discuss, openly and honestly, about my mental health and I’ve brought comfort to so many people and helped them in various ways.

– I’ve created my own community ‘#beechat’ and within this community I have almost 2,000 followers, a snail mail campaign that I created (with almost 100 lovely individuals involved) and I host 2 twitter chats a week and always receive nothing but positivity from it. You guys are amazing: Each and every one of you.

– I have worked with some incredible brands who have approached me themselves (which I would never have imagined).

– I have befriended so many wonderful individuals who I speak to on a regular basis and whom I care about so much.

– I attended my first blogger event not so long ago and I absolutely loved it.

– I rediscovered my love for writing and am now currently doing a professional writing skills course in the creative industries at college.

– I have found one of the best therapies there is and that is simply blogging in itself: Writing and letting the words flow from my heart – on my own little corner of the internet – I feel truly blessed.

– I am able to review books I love, products I am using, places I go, things I do and often I am sent things by notorious companies to do so which is an incredible opportunity for which I am always grateful.

– I have been able to inspire and encourage people – no words can explain how much this means to me. It truly warms my heart. Nothing makes me feel better than people telling me that they regularly read my blog and that they take something from it.

– I’ve learned to try and not let people get me down – that there will always be someone out there waiting to make you feel shit about yourself – so you might as well show them what you’re made of and prove them wrong: Nothing will annoy these people more than seeing you excel and knowing you’re happy and content.

I could go on forever about how much of a positive impact blogging has had on my life but I’m going to stop here. I just want to thank absolutely everyone who has had my back over this past year. I look forward to another year of being a blogger – and everything that comes with it.

Love you all sooooooooo much.

I’m sitting in front of my laptop, staring at the blank white screen, I feel like it’s staring right back at me – through me. I have this very strong desire, this overwhelming urge to write, I don’t know what to say. The words will not come. Is this what writer’s block is?

My mind hasn’t been in a very good place at the moment if I’m completely candid with you. I just want someone to talk to, someone to try and understand, someone to empathize – but not to sympathise: Do you know what I mean?

I feel so far away from myself.
I feel like there ain’t another human being in this whole wide world that could possibly understand. Nobody.
I feel like there’s this massive weight on my shoulders: I want someone to lift it off. Someone to tell me it will all be OK; that sort of thing, you know?

I think everyone is better than me. I keep comparing myself to other people and feeling inferior. I feel like I’m seeing everyone around me excel and flourish and then there’s me.

I want better for myself.
I want to stop thinking this way.
I want to wake up one day and just accept myself and that is all: To be happy in my own skin, to get through the day without thinking so negatively, to just be carefree for one day.
