#Day1 of the Easter Break (back to the gym, step target & mini haul).

I made an announcement on Twitter today saying that during the Easter break I want to share one positive thing that happens throughout my day with you all. Additionally, I am going to do write a blog post every day sharing my day of events. Hopefully this will inspire me to do more with my days off college and keep my blog updated.

Today I went to the gym for the first time in months; it took so much energy (physically and mentally) to get myself there. I’m so glad I did it though. My friend Megan accompanied me and we had a good catch up whilst working out together – which took my mind off how much I was struggling. It’s crazy, several months ago I was a proper fitness fanatic and went to the gym almost daily, and yet now I have lost all of that progress and I am back at square one again.

10,000 steps!

 

I had a chat with one of the Personal Trainers’, Mike, who is absolutely fabulous. He has always encouraged, supported and educated me when it comes to fitness. He booked me in for a new fitness programme and he’s going to get me back on track again. He couldn’t do any more for me if he tried. Today I told myself that I want to hit a 10,000 step target every day (most days, anyway). I hit that goal today and gave myself a pat on the back. Tomorrow I aim to surpass this and do even better.

After the gym, Megan and I went a wander around the Town Centre (even though we were both a sweaty mess). I ended up picking up a few bits & bobs from The Works and a new book from one of the charity shops (which, for the life of me, I can’t remember the name of)…

 

I picked up the floral notepad with an inspirational quote on it from The Works for £2: They have an abundance of aesthetically pleasing and inspiring notebooks at the moment. Every time I visit I pick one up. I also purchased those lined pink sticky notes because one can never have a shortage of sticky notes, right? I bought another writing set because I am forever writing letters to my #beechat snail mail buddies! And I picked up two new books: Forbidden Soldier by Alison Prince for £1 from The Works and That Girl From Nowhere by Dorothy Koomson for 50p out of the charity shop. Charity shops are like a gold mine for books.

Once I got home I suggested to my boyfriend that we go out for a food shop (I really just wanted to get more steps in to hit my target at this point). Mission accomplished.

What am I proud of myself for today?

  • I went to the gym for the first time in ages.
  • I hit my 10,000 step target goal.
  • I picked up a few bargains.
  • I drank 2L+ of water.
