Meet Leo

Introducing Leo, the new addition to my body, isn’t he beautiful?

I’ve always said that my blog is an online journal, a place where I can share the most personal and even mundane things, and also a safe haven for me to write about whatever the hell I want. And I stand by that. It’s important that I remember why I started blogging, that I document the insignificant things, that I share aspects of my life that may not mean anything to you guys but they do to me and that’s what counts. It helps you guys to get to know me better. It allows me to express myself. I’m a ‘lifestyle’ blogger so it’s important that I actually document the happenings in my life. No matter what they are.

I digress. So yesterday I got a new tattoo, a majestic big lion with piercing blue eyes, on my left thigh. I’ve named him Leo, because it suits him, and it’s my star sign. I got him because I wanted him; because I thought he would bring my thigh to life and add another sprinkle of my personality to my outer appearance. So many people always want to know the meaning behind tattoos – sometimes we just get them because we want to ok?

Leo took 3 hours yesterday to come to life, he still has another 2 hours of fine detail to go, but I’ll let him heal first. The insanely talented Peter at Fleur De Lis in Glasgow did this beauty for me and he done a pretty damn good job. I couldn’t have asked for it to be any better, any different or any more realistic. It’s even more special than I had envisaged. (Cheers Peter)! This was my 10th tattoo (well, I’m currently in the process of undergoing tattoo laser removal for one of them). I’ve already got roses all up my right thigh so having Leo opposite on my left thigh, at level with the flowers, looks pretty neat. I’ve always hated my thighs – well, my legs in general – so having something to distract people (and me) from my skin helps my anxiety. It’s almost like I’m hiding behind a mask. But that’s OK because it’s still me inside, and just because there’s ink on my body, doesn’t change a thing about who I am.

Hey, that’s a whole other post in itself! I just wanted to introduce Leo to y’all because I’m excited and he deserves to be seen! So what do you think? Have you got any tattoos? Let me know in the comments below!

I absolutely ADORE THIS. He is absolutely stunning and your tattoo artist is SO talented! I’d love to get more tattoos – I have one, which I got when I was 18 and I love but I’m kinda scared to get another! I probably wouldn’t go for anything big, like this. But I like cute, dainty tattoos and quotes 🙂 xxx

A big bravo to the artist Peter that lion is incredible! And art can be a huge source of inspiration and power – so I totally understand your reasons behind it – not like you need to justify yourself for having it done of course! It’s beautiful x x x

That is something pretty special. I have 4 tattoos myself…1) Is an ancient symbol on my left bicep that would take a bit of explaining. 2) is a Rose on my right shoulder blade with a dagger going through it (the dagger says TRUTH inside it; symbolizing being true and honest with myself when it comes to matters of the heart, 3) a pair of black and white Koi fish circling that last tattoo symbolizing yin and yang and balance…and lastly 4) on my right forearm that beginning of a sleeve for me…a stag running with the word Always trailing from it’s footsteps. That’s the spirit magic of Severus Snape from Harry Potter, a character I relate to in a very deep and personal way! There, now I think you know a bit more about me…but Charlene I love Leo! Looks GREAT!

Leo is absolutely stunning Charlene and I feel like the combination of roses and a lion on your legs is so very “you”! The lion represents your strength and power as an incredible woman, something which I always love and respect you for, and the roses represent your feminine beauty and your kind, loving personality! Well, that’s what I think anyway! The detail and realistic-ness of this tattoo is incredible, Peter did do an amazing job!
